From Tórshavn we will drive to Klaksvík. Klaksvík is the second largest town in the Faroe Islands. The city is guarded by towering mountains, including Klakkur, which the town is named after.
In Klaksvík we will visit the church Christianskirkjan. The church was consecrated on 7 July 1963 and is dedicated to the memory of the Faroese sailors who lost their lives during World War Two. Christianskirkjan is the first large church in the Northern countries, which is constructed with inspiration from the old Viking halls and the common hall in old Faroese homes.
After the tour at Christianskirkjan, we will get a nice meal at a local café in Klaksvík, so that we are ready for our next stop.
Next stop is Føroya Bjór. Føroya Bjór is a family owned brewing company based in Klaksvík. The company was established in 1888 and is therefore one of the oldest companies in Faroe Islands.
Føroya Bjór has won many awards and received a lot of recognition for the beers during the years. At Føroya Bjór we will get a tour of the brewery, taste some of the beers and if you like, you can buy some of their beers to bring back home.
On the way back to the hotel, there will be some photo stops along the way.
