Hiking trip Kirkjubøur - Argir

A nice trip along the old mountain.

This hiking trip begins from the village of Kirkjubøur and ends at Argir, Tórshavn.

Kirkjubøur is a beautiful and charming village where most of the houses are built in the old style. The village has a wealth of attractions; for example, the enigmatic Magnus Cathedral, built around the year 1300 by Bishop Erlendur, the St. Olaf’s Church and the Kirkjuböargarður estate farmhouse (Roykstovan), a stave house dating back to the turn of the first millennium, said to be the world’s oldest inhabited wooden house.

From Kirkjubøur we walk to Argir. On the route, if the weather is permitting, we have a great view of Sandoy, Hestur, Koltur Vágar, Eysturoy, Tórshavn and Nólsoy.

Please note:

The trip begins from Kirkjubø at 16:00. In order to get to Kirkjubø, you can take a free public bus from the bus stop, Steinatún, in Tórshavn city centre at 15:34. Bus route 5V.
