Guided tour from Tórshavn to the charming island Nólsoy

Guided tour from Tórshavn to the charming island Nólsoy, hiking to Borðan, ferry crossing and lunch box included.

In order to get to Nólsoy, we take the ferry ‘Ternan’ from the harbour in Tórshavn. The crossing takes about 20 minutes.

This tour includes a guide, who takes you to the southernmost part of Nólsoy, Borðan, where the lighthouse from 1893 is located. The lighthouse, Nólsoyar Viti, was built in 1893. Back then, the lens was one of the largest in the world of its kind. It is 2.82 metres high and weighs about four tons. The hiking trip takes about 2½ + hours each way.

On this hike we will have great views of different islands. We will see ruins and hear the stories about when people hid from the pirates in the old days.

The island of Nólsoy is also concidered a very important bird region. On the side facing Tórshavn we will find green and lush hills and on the other side there are vertical bird-cliffs.
